ALS – What It Is and How You Can Help

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease) is one of the worst diseases we know of. In people with ALS, motor neurons deteriorate leading to muscle weakness and paralysis. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and most people live 2-5 years after their first signs of disease. There is currently no treatment or cure.

The very first CES was held in New York City 50 years ago this week, June 25-28, 1967. The inaugural show attracted 117 exhibitors and 17,500 attendees with main exhibits at the New York Hilton Midtown on 6th Avenue and Americana of New York Hotel (now Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel) on 7th Avenue. Since then, CES has grown immensely, with more than 4,000 exhibitors and more than 180,000 attendees at CES 2017 this past January in Las Vegas. Where do I start

Before all the trolls decide to visit and make a comment, take a moment and step back.

I chose to allow this to be the way it is and why because I became stagnant, The next troll who says I am being a martyr or just looking for attention maybe I am. The thing is I am CHOOSING to realign myself back to the world of social and blogging. Yes there is a lot to learn, do I expect to be an expert NO but I think I am intuitive enough to understand and ask.

Why I hate my site:

  1. My old site I LOST IT ALL. I didn’t back it up to 3 years of content and development is in the black hole
  2. WordPress – allow me to be your mistress and guide me to where I need to be or just basically I need to get $10 and go to @udemy to learn. I think the latter is my answer
  3. Themes in the last 2 months I been changing my theme and I continue to mess it up so if you have any suggestions for free themes for now and plugins that should be here those comments are welcome.

My journey of being a collegiate athlete, personal trainer, and high school basketball coach has led me to start GREAT Kids Snacks. I believe it is important to teach kids about the benefits of healthy eating so it can be a lifestyle they want to live as they grow up. Part of teaching them about healthy eating is being able to provide them with easy and convenient access to organic and all-natural products. How GREAT Kids Snacks began, a message from Kyle

GREAT Kids Snacks all started when I was at the San Diego Zoo chaperoning a kindergarten field trip. I expected to see some amazing animals and kids running around behaving like wild animals, but when it came to feeding time I was shocked. It almost seemed like the animals in captivity were eating better than the kids. The school provided “lunch” for some kids, which consisted of a juice, canned chicken salad (it made me gag), graham crackers, and applesauce of some sort. Every single kid only ate the graham crackers and drank the juice. As for the kids who were lucky enough for mom or dad to pack their lunch, it was not much better. I saw a lot of “lunchables”, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, sodas, sugary juices, and candy bars. These questions in my head brought me to the conclusion that there needs to be a convenient way for parents to provide their children with healthy foods. March A Month of Madness

Welcome to March and back to my blog. For the last three years I was Rants and Raves of a Crazed Mom, but no more. I will always be a crazed mom but now I am peeling layers off. I wasn’t happy with my name, my blog, my hair you name it and I probably write the alphabet with how I feel. As I am typing, I realize maybe the ABCs of it will be pretty good.  I know the template is ugly and generic but I have to put effort into what I want to reflect.

When I think of March, the following comes to my mind.

  1. March Madness (March 4 to April 1) – College basketball where you will see many brackets going around, more intensive than the SuperBowl
  2. Ides of March (March 15)  – The assassination of Julius Caesar

It is hard to forget what hurts you, but eventually you have to let go. Here is a little story I like to share what my biggest purge is to date. I have a robe that I have been wearing each time I get depressed or better yet I wore everyday and slept in.  Today, I put it corner that I am labeling for donations. I forgot to take pictures of the earlier, but this is key for me.  I am cold more often, but I put a sweater and keep myself moving.  Have a great night and hope to be back again tomorrow.
